1. Do you use an alarm clock to wake up?
No. I almost always wake up hours before the alarm goes off.

2. What time does your alarm go off?
Weekdays, 6:30AM. Kelly sometimes asks to sleep an extra half-hour, and I oblige her by being her snooze alarm.

3. What sound does it make?
The alarm? It plays foreverandever, etc. by David Crowder* Band.

4. Do you hit the snooze button? How many times?
As noted above, Kelly sometimes uses me as a snooze button.

5. If you have a partner, do they have a separate alarm?
Nope, just the one, since I don’t use one.

6. Does your partner get up at the same time, earlier or later?
Kelly gets up later. I generally get up between 5:00 and 6:00AM, so she sleeps anywhere from half an hour to two hours later than I do.

7. Is your clock set ahead? If so, by how much?
It’s set to “roughly standard” time. This means it could be off by as much as five minutes either way. I’m not terribly sure, since, again, I don’t use it.

8. What’s the first thing you do when you get up?
Restroom, Shower, Computer.

9. Do you eat breakfast? If so, what?
I’ve been doing slim-fast for breakfast lately, because I’m working on changing roughly two decades of very poor eating habits.

10. How long does it take you to get ready?
It doesn’t. I can be up and out of the house inside of 15 minutes if I need to be.

11. On the weekends, what time do you get up?
Same time as weekdays - I don’t descriminate. So, 5A to 6A.

12. Do you lounge or do you jump into action?
Lounge big time.

13. In an ideal world, what time would you get up?
5AM. I feel that 9PM is a good time to go to sleep, so 5A gives me a solid 8 hours of sleep.

14. How many hours of sleep do you typically get?
This is a tough one. I used to get the aforementioned 8 hours of sleep - but lately I’ve been staying up late and going to bed between 10 and 11P, so I get anywhere between 6 and 8 hours roughly.

15. How many hours of sleep do you want to get?
I’d like my 8. I don’t know why. I guess I felt that life was a little ’simpler’ when I had a set bedtime and a set out-of-bedtime.

So, even though I’m confined to the wee hours, Kelly’s seen fit to let me guest blog for a post or two. (Thanks Kelly!)

Sadly, I don’t have anything really profound to say - after all, it’s early! But, as I sit here and listen to my favorite band, I pick the music apart and I am swallowed by pure joy. I hear every nuance, every beat, every note - or at least I feel like I do, although I continually discover new aspects - and it is ambrosia to my being. I often wonder how, given a literally blank piece of paper, they came up with this composition.

I would love to learn more about the technical side of making music. What drives you?
